Satoshi Yagisawa · Translated from the Japanese by Eric Ozawa · Manilla Press · Paperback · Torunka Café, Book 2
From the international bestselling author of Days at the Morisaki Bookshop
Step back through the doors of the Torunka Café. Tucked away down a quiet Tokyo side street near Yanaka Ginza, this little coffee shop is where locals and visitors from every walk of life stumble upon small, everyday miracles — and where a single good cup of coffee can give you the strength to face the days ahead.
This volume brings three heartwarming new stories. Chiyoko, an elderly regular who has been coming to the Torunka for twenty years, finds herself revisiting long-buried memories of her first love. Kōta, a childhood friend of the owner's daughter, wrestles with feelings he has kept to himself for years — until an unexpected run-in with a film crew. And Ayako, a quotation-loving illustrator who is burned out and unsure where to go next, discovers that a chance meeting with an old friend can change everything.
The second instalment in Satoshi Yagisawa's much-loved Torunka Café series: an invitation to slow down with a cup of coffee and find joy in the everyday. Perfect for readers of Days at the Morisaki Bookshop and other gentle Japanese fiction.
