THE ROALD DAHL CLOTHBOUND COLLECTION · Bound in real cloth with gold foil · Illustrated by Quentin Blake
Matilda is a brilliant little girl who taught herself to read before she was four and has worked her way through half the public library. Unfortunately her parents think she is a nuisance, and would far rather watch television than notice anything about her.
At school things are no simpler. Her teacher, Miss Honey, sees how extraordinary she is — but the school is ruled by the terrifying headmistress Miss Trunchbull, who believes children are vermin. Then Matilda discovers that her mind can do more than anyone imagined, and decides it is time somebody stood up to the grown-ups.
Funny, fierce and full of heart, Matilda is a story for every child who has ever loved books.
